A cryptocurrency is a virtual asset that can be used to exchange for goods and services. It is secured by cryptography, making it almost impossible to counterfeit or hack.
Many cryptocurrencies use a technology called blockchain, which is a decentralized network based on distributed ledgers made up of several different computers.
As these are typically encrypted (information which is converted to code) and decentralized (no authoritative body/bodies overseeing the process), most blockchains are theoretically immune to manipulation and interference.
With Coins.xyz, you can buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies. You may refer here for the list of supported cryptocurrencies and networks.

Why has the USD equivalent in my balances changed since the last time I checked it?
The USD equivalent in your wallet has changed because it's based on the current marketvalue of your cryptocurrencies, which fluctuates constantly. While the actual amount of cryptocurrency you own remains constant, its USD value changes as cryptocurrency prices rise or fall in the market. You can verify your cryptocurrency balances in the Portfolio tab and check the Transaction History for any unexpected changes in your crypto holdings.
