If you encounter a “Verification not valid” error while trying to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), it may be due to your Authenticator app not being properly synchronized with your device's time. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
For Android Devices
1. Open Settings: Go to your phone's Settings.
2. Date and Time: Tap on Date and Time. (This may be found under System > Date & Time depending on your device version.)
3. Enable Automatic Settings: Ensure that both Automatic Date and Time and Automatic Time Zone are switched ON.
For iOS Devices
1. Open Settings: Go to your phone's Settings.
2. Date & Time: Tap on General, then Date & Time.
3. Enable Set Automatically: Make sure the Set Automatically option is turned ON.
Sync Time in Google Authenticator
1. Open Google Authenticator: Launch the Google Authenticator app.
2. Access Settings: Tap on the three lines in the upper left corner to open the menu.
3. Time Correction for Codes: Select Time correction for codes.
4. Sync Now: Tap Sync now to synchronize the time on your mobile phone.
Additional Steps
If you still receive the error after adjusting your settings:
- Delete and Recreate Entry: Try deleting the Google Authenticator entry for your Coins.xyz account and create a new entry by re-scanning the QR code or manually entering the key.
